DAAD Research Scholarships

DAAD Research Scholarships for Indian research scholars are announced once
annually, in July/ early August, by the DAAD Regional Office New Delhi on
their website
The application deadline for these scholarships is 15th October each year.
There are two categories of these scholarships:
1.      Research Grants – Doctoral   in Germany
DAAD grants for young scientists and academics wishing to improve their
academic qualifications with a doctoral degree in Germany.

2.       Research Grants – Bi nationally supervised Doctoral degrees
DAAD grants for doctoral candidates and young scientists and academics whose
doctoral degrees are supervised both by a university teacher at the home
university and an academic adviser at the host institute in Germany.

The DAAD India Scholarship application process involves a one year time
The announcement for this year has already been done in July 2019.
If you already have an acceptance for a PhD from a German University /
Professor & the research proposal also drawn up, you will be able to apply
for the scholarship online, at the DAAD online application portal, after the
announcement is made.
The next  application deadline 15th October 2019.
Shortlisted candidates will be called to attend a personal interview to New
Delhi in Jan / Feb 2020.
If selected, the candidate will be able to begin their PhD in Germany in
October 2020.

DAAD- IIT Master Sandwich scholarship-
Now called KOSPIE: Combined Study and Practice Stays for Engineers from
Developing Countries (KOSPIE) with Indian IITs . DAAD

The scholarships offer students from Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT)
the opportunity to complete a project work as part of their master’s thesis
under the guidance of a German professor at one of the TU9 technical
